Following the first year success at creating a memorable gift wrap, I wanted something that would take a little longer than applying an opener to a can. I created a screen saver based on the phrase, "If you're already on thin ice, you might as well dance" featuring two polar bears. I saved the image to a 3.5" floppy disk, sealed it in plastic and suspended it in a tub of water that I placed in the backyard.
That December we had a string of sub-freezing weather and after two days the block of ice was ready. When it was time to open gifts, I brought in the ice and the chipping commenced (in the kitchen I think).
Pat may have kept that screen saver on her computer at work for several years.
